An Elvis special

Among Barron’s collectibles is a microphone stand that Elvis Presley used in a 1972 concert in Jacksonville, Florida. Although Barron was not at that show, he discovered the stand some time later in an antique shop and learned that a daring young guy had grabbed the stand off the stage and escaped with it.   After Barron bought it, he had it gold-plated.  “I called Graceland and told them about it, in case there was any concern about their wanting it back. They said, no problem—that it was mine now.”
